Report content or abuse
Last updated: 3 July 2026
plebos keeps a narrow, viewpoint-neutral set of house rules and acts on what we are told about. If you see content or behaviour that breaks our Acceptable Use rules or the law, report it and we will review it. Copyright complaints have their own process — see DMCA.
How to report
Use the form below — it goes straight into our review queue — or email abuse@plebos.com with a link to the content or account and a short description of the problem. Both paths are reviewed by a person. For legal process (court orders, subpoenas, preservation requests) email legal@plebos.com.
What we do with a report
A reviewer triages each report and may:
- remove or restrict a post;
- remove or restrict an account;
- defederate a remote instance (for problems coming from the wider fediverse — see our defederation policy);
- escalate to one of the special-handling paths below.
Every moderation action is logged.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
We have zero tolerance for CSAM. If you encounter it on plebos, report it to abuse@plebos.com — and you can report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org. On a credible report we remove the content, report it to NCMEC as required by law, and preserve the relevant data. We do not forward or casually redistribute the material.
Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)
Sharing intimate images of a person without their consent — including AI-generated or synthetic imagery — is prohibited. If you are depicted in such imagery on plebos, or are reporting on someone's behalf, email abuse@plebos.com with the subject NCII and a link to the content. We aim to remove valid reports within 48 hours of receipt and make a reasonable effort to find and remove copies we are hosting.
Harassment, threats, spam, and fraud
Targeted harassment or threats, spam, and deceptive or fraudulent practices are not allowed. Report them to abuse@plebos.com. Readers also have their own block and mute controls; authors can screen comments on their own publication.
Appeals
If we act on your content or account and you believe we got it wrong, reply to the notice we send, or email abuse@plebos.com with the subject Appeal. A reviewer who was not the original decision-maker will look again where practical.
A note on federation
plebos federates over ActivityPub. Content originating on other instances lives under their rules; our control over it is instance-level — we can defederate an instance, and we make a best-effort (not guaranteed) attempt to propagate deletions outward, but remote instances are independently operated and cannot be compelled by us.
